Vice President of Operations

Mac Arthur Corporation is a dynamic and growing mid-sized manufacturer of high quality labels and die-cut components serving automotive and industrial customers around the world. Our customers include some of the largest OEMs and Tier 1’s in the automotive industry, electronics and industrial manufacturers, and consumer product companies. We are seeking a self-starting and ambitious Vice President of Operations to join our team.

As a key member of the senior management team reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for leading major strategic initiatives, recommending & implementing changes in manufacturing and operations globally, developing and maintaining relationships with key operational personnel at our customers, and collaborating with all departments and partners. You will have experience creating operations standards for and driving continuous improvement in cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety and on-time delivery. You will be able to establish manufacturing policies in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, materials usage, shipping/receiving, capacity planning, production scheduling, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations and performance measures. You will understand and implement key customer requirements throughout operations.

As a successful candidate for this position you will have 10 years or more progressive operations and general management experience in an automotive manufacturing environment. You will be an analytical individual who meets challenges with a sense of urgency and organization. Reporting to the CEO, your responsibilities include:

  • Direct manufacturing, purchasing, PC & L, quality, engineering, estimating, IT and lab operations and organizational development
  • Process development and improvement
  • Strategic and capacity planning
  • Problem prevention, detection, and resolution
  • Developing and maintaining strong supplier & customer relationships

  • Ability to lead people, get results, coach and develop employees
  • Disciplined planner able to manage 1-2 year timeline and cascade plans to departments with clear scope and achievable timelines
  • Project management skills and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Experience in operations and manufacturing systems development, deployment and scaling
  • Effective and collaborative problem solver with experience analyzing and resolving strategic and tactical issues

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Technical: Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, Process Improvement, Six Sigma, Freight & Distribution, Materials Management, Production Scheduling, ISO 14001, TS16949, OSHA
  • IT Experience: Ability to integrate business and operations systems to an ERP solution, understanding of manufacturing IT systems and tools, confidence learning and adopting new technology and applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation & Requirements:

  • Salary commensurate with experience; Competitive benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related, Master’s preferred
  • Travel, up to 10%
  • Career Level Required Executive (SVP, VP, Director, Department Head, etc)
